Desserts are everywhere,
including the end of the earth! As amazing as it may sound, in Roman times the
coast of Galicia was believed to be end of the known world! At the same time
they believed the earth was flat which isn't so amazing... Anyway, if you're up for a visit you won't be dissapointed as there are some nice views and lots of amazing food, including desserts!
Here you have some recommendations for the downtown of A Coruña, the most vibrant city in the region. If you want to try a bit of everything check these places, but for the sake of your health we
recommend to do so in more than one day!
1. Bonilla a la vista
Breakfast time and what can be
more Spanish than churros? Don’t let
TacoBell trick you, they are traditionally from the Iberian Peninsula, where
you can find a place to eat them everywhere you go. In A Coruña one of the best
places is Bonilla a la vista, where you can enjoy these delicacies with a cup
of hot chocolate. They also have really tasty and crunchy chips if you’re in
the mood of something salty (although you can get their brand at any supermarket).

2. Bico de xeado
The name literally means
ice-cream kiss and for sure it’s a sweet one! You can find it around all the
region and in other Spanish cities that you may visit (Bacelona, Madrid,
Sevilla). The texture is so creamy and smooth that cannot been described with words. Just
to say that despite being a quite young company has already won a lot of market
share...no wonder why! from its competitors…but for me there is only them!

They have a wide range of flavours, some of them are seasonal. You will also find flavours of traditional Galician products (coffee liquor, chestnut, Padrón peppers, cottage cheese with figs). All of them are yummy yummy but my personal favourite is chocolate with orange because it also has little orange chunks! J

3. Sweetplace
Sweetplace is well-known for its
cupcakes, being, if not the first, one of the first businesses offering this
product in the city. They also have cakes, brownies and cheesecakes of different flavours; smoothies and milkshakes; and bagels! If you get a chance try the Guinness cheescake or a carrot cupcake!

4. La postreria
Here you can have proper food,
desserts or cocktails, or all of them. The decoration is different as you can see, especially beautiful at night.
If you go for something sweet try the chocolate fondue., served with fresh fruit, pastries and some marshmallows.

Unfortunately, the fondue is only available
for two or more people but if you’re on your own don’t panic, there are other
gorgeous staff! I especially like the pink panther because it tastes as good as it looks :)
